Scholarships in Uttar Pradesh
UP runs one of the largest scholarship operations via the UP Scholarship Portal (Saksham). The Government of Uttar Pradesh administers the UP Dashmottar Scholarship (Post Matric) through the official portal at https://scholarship.up.gov.in.

How scholarships work in Uttar Pradesh
UP runs one of India's largest scholarship operations, and this page carries both ends of it: the UP Dashmottar Scholarship for students past Class 10, and the UP Pre-Matric Scholarship for those still in school up to Class 10. Both are applied for through the state scholarship portal noted in the intro above.
National schemes are linked just below and can be claimed alongside the state awards. Because pre-matric and post-matric run on different timelines, the table shows separate windows — use them as a cue to check the portal rather than fixed dates.
National scholarships Uttar Pradesh students can also claim
These 10 schemes are funded by the central government rather than by Uttar Pradesh, so students here can apply for them too. Open each one to check its eligibility rules, award amount and its own application window. Most run through the National Scholarship Portal.

Documents the Uttar Pradesh schemes ask for
Arranging these early is the difference between applying and missing a window, because several are issued by an office on its own timetable. This list covers what the Uttar Pradesh schemes above need on top of the documents the national schemes already require, with the scheme that asks for each.
- Domicile certificate of UP — UP Dashmottar Scholarship (Post Matric), UP Pre-Matric Scholarship
- Caste/Community certificate (if applicable) — UP Dashmottar Scholarship (Post Matric)
- Current year college fee receipt — UP Dashmottar Scholarship (Post Matric)
- Caste certificate (if applicable) — UP Pre-Matric Scholarship
- Aadhaar card (of the student or parent) — UP Pre-Matric Scholarship
Why Uttar Pradesh applications get rejected
Each of these has cost real applicants a scholarship they qualified for. They are specific to the Uttar Pradesh schemes on this page, not the generic national-portal mistakes.
- Entering an incorrect fee amount; if the fee claimed does not match the college's approved fee structure, the application will be rejected or partially funded. — UP Dashmottar Scholarship (Post Matric)
- Attempting to use a bank account that is not seeded with Aadhaar for DBT, causing the final payment to fail even after approval. — UP Dashmottar Scholarship (Post Matric)
- Failing to link the student's or parent's bank account with Aadhaar, which is mandatory for receiving the DBT payment. — UP Pre-Matric Scholarship
- Providing mismatched demographic details (name, date of birth) between the school records and the Aadhaar card. — UP Pre-Matric Scholarship
